Behind the Logo

When you look at my logo you probably just think that it represents my favorite areas of photography but there is so much more to it than just that. There’s a great deal happening here in my logo, and I genuinely wouldn’t want it any other way. I drew up roughly around 20 different ideas of what I wanted my logo to be and how it should represent myself. I am truly so proud of this logo and what it signifies.

The trees symbolize my deep love for the outdoors and the profound serenity that accompanies it. I truly thrive off of the isolation and the tranquility that comes from being situated in the middle of nowhere. Being surrounded by the gentle sounds of nature and the peacefulness of the environment.

In the top right corner of my logo, there is a crescent moon along with two twinkling stars positioned above it. I intentionally created this particular design to signify a cheerful smiley face. While I was piecing this logo together, I incorporated an 11-degree rotation of the moon, which uniquely represents the day and month that one of my aunt’s was born, adding a personal touch to the overall design.

The birds soaring in the sky are meant to represent one of my grandfathers. He was a passionate bird watcher and a devoted nature and wildlife lover, much like myself. His appreciation for the beauty of the creatures of the world has inspired me throughout my life.

The white circle positioned behind the trees symbolizes The Sun during a partial eclipse. I created this piece in honor of the Great American Solar Eclipse that took place on my grandmother’s birthday in 2024. This event held special meaning for me, as it beautifully coincided with a significant moment connected to her.

The shooting star on the left hand side beautifully symbolizes another one of my aunts with whom I shared a very close and special bond. If somehow you didn’t already know, a shooting star is traditionally believed to represent a fortune of positivity and bring good luck in many cultures. My aunt had a wonderfully uplifting outlook on life and was always the one to bring light and warmth to any room she entered.

The stars have to be my favorite touch to this logo. While I do love the night sky for its breathtaking beauty, there has been a much deeper meaning behind it that spans across multiple generations. I mean, there are quite literally constellations that are formed just by the specific positions of certain stars in the universe. These constellations were once used as essential guides for people navigating their way across the unknown. In many cases, there is some sort of significant tie to heaven and the souls of those who have come before us. That’s exactly why the night sky holds a special place in my heart. I often think about some of the people who are pictured here in this collage, as well as those who I was unable to include. Most of the time, these thoughts are not intentional; they just happen to surface in my mind naturally. I believe this connection only serves to deepen my love and passion for astrophotography.

And to wrap up this whole story, I am excitedly beginning to show my photography work on March 5th, which happens to be my other grandfather’s birthday. While I don’t think he was much of an avid nature lover like myself, he is nonetheless someone whom I look up to and strive to be like every day. I figured that celebrating this new beginning on his special day was a meaningful nod to him and a thoughtful way to tie together this entire journey.

While there is so many individuals who have inspired me, supported me and people whom I look up to. These are a few of the individuals who I wanted to ensure that I included in my logo to some capacity since the idea of even sharing my work publicly popped into my head. So I did just that. And I’m so happy that I created a way to include them in all of this.

Lastly that is part of why I encourage people to take photos preserving moments and memories long after we are gone. Beyond the simple fact that you never truly know when your last day will be.

Images are one of the last few things that will endure and outlive our journey here on Earth.

So I’m just going to showcase some of my biggest inspirations behind my love for photography along with me for the rest of mine.
